Pro Boxer 11-1

Name: Du-shane Crooks

Hometown: Jamaica, West Indies / Brooklyn, NY

What do you love about boxing?

I was born in Jamaica, West Indies and migrated to the USA at the age of five. Living in Brooklyn,  I was always picked on and teased about my accent, so I decided to learn how to fight. I am a professional boxer with sixteen years of boxing experience with eleven wins, six coming by way of knockout, with only one loss.

How did you get into training? What are you fighting for?

I decided to get into boxing after my father was tragically killed in Jamaica. I told my mom at thirteen years old that I wanted to be a boxer, inspired by my idol, Iron Mike Tyson.
As an amateur, I competed in tournaments such as New York Golden Gloves, where I was a semi-finalist. I fought in tournaments all over the country, including a win at Platinum Gloves Tournament, fighting and winning a belt at Ringside Tournament, and a Georgia State Champion. I later decided to move to Washington D.C. after I was recommended for World Class Camp to spar with former 2X World Champion that was once considered the most avoided/feared fighter in boxing, Paul “Punisher” Williams, for three years. I transitioned to professional boxing in 2011 with twenty-six amateur fights because my fighting style was more suitable for professional boxing.
I have a passion for teaching and sharing my knowledge of boxing. I continue to train and fight with the goal to become the next World Champion.
